Music

We use Charanga as our scheme to cover the requirements of the national Curriculum for Music. Our overview for Music ensures that musical knowledge and skills are built upon progressively as children move through the school.

We take the opportunity to sing whenever we can at farrington Gurney. We plan and perform productions and nativties; we take part in concerts beyond our own environment by attending events at a range of places including Wells Cathedral and Clifton Cathedral. Every other year we take part in Young Voices, which is a mass choir event held in Birmingham - the children attend singing club after school to prepare for this. We also have other after school clubs such as recorders, and also offer peripatetic music lessons on a range of instruments.

Our Curriculum Overviews will show how we plan our two year cycle in Classes 2, 3 & 4.
